My current research aims to expand on the understanding of the cell-autonomous and cell non-autonomous signals and mechanisms, which are involved in the transformation of normal stem cells into cancer stem cells in childhood cancers. My goal is to investigate the molecular pathways that regulate factors involved in tumorigenesis and/or evasion of the immune system. The main focus of my work is to identify new genetic vulnerabilities that can be exploited as potential novel therapeutic targets, by utilizing the CRISPR-Cas9 genome-editing system
